Did you know that there are over 100,000 children in Ukraine without families? Many of them live in the government-run orphanages, which rely greatly on the humanitarian aid provided by organizations such as ours as well as support from local communities, as government actions are simply not enough. While orphanages provide basic shelter and needs to the children, the real challenge comes when the children "graduate" from the orphanages. The children are then thrown into the harsh realities of adult life unprepared and without guidance.

The reality is even more ruthless for children with disabilities who are not provided with medical assistance that unfortunately keeps them disabled. As a result, many of these youngsters fail in their attempt to lead their lives in a productive fashion; instead they turn to drugs, prostitution, and theft.
